Set in historic City Park, amidst lush lagoons, bayous and one of the largest collections of mature oak trees in the world–all in the shadow of the New Orleans Museum of Art and just minutes from the French Quarter and Central Business District. This festive New Orleans celebration is steeped in the city of immensely rich and diverse culture. Throughout its consecutive 11-year run, the VOODOO EXPERIENCE has brought together a collection of talent that has bridged the social, economic and generational gaps by creating a unique event with a commitment to every genre of music while at the same time celebrating the sounds of the region.
Every year, the wide-ranging line-up of talent reflects the multitude of cultures that define this historic and beloved American city. Since its 1999 debut, more than 1,200 performers–ranging from Rage Against the Machine, Eminem, KISS, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., Green Day, Tiesto, Nine Inch Nails, Tool to a variety of New Orleans artists including Dr. John, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, The Original Funky Meters and Irma Thomas–have come to New Orleans to worship the music at the annual event.
